36KMs from Dhenkanal district, Kamakhyanagar is one of the Sub-Division consisting 04nos. blocks and one NAC. It is surrounded by high raising mountains and lush green forest. The inhabitants are mainly farmers and forest dwellers. Prior to the establishment of this college there was hardly any Higher Education facility for the girl students in this area. The connectivity facility was poor and due to poor financial condition the local communities were far from getting educational facilities.
At this critical juncture a visionary dreamt of the development of local community through the enhancement and up scaling of educational facilities in the area. He was none other than the Young Local Political Representative of this area named Sj. Prasanna Pattanaik(MLA Kamakhyanagar). He founded this institution in the name of Women’s Degree College…
